Within a year, he opened three boutiques on the French Riviera and, in 1984, he settled in Paris on the prestigious Faubourg Saint-Honoré. During the parties he organized on Rue de Rivoli, he gathered all of Paris's chic and shady characters. The public wanted more. The couturier to the stars, at once a faithful husband, a fickle lover, an unyielding patriarch, and a captain at the helm, has seen it all throughout the century. From the baroque effervescence of the global jet set to the dark hours of the AIDS years, he has been through it all. On the eve of his eightieth birthday, we read the journey of a visionary designer driven by the love of leather and freedom.

Jean-Claude Jitrois was born in Narbonne. In 2002, he received the Legion of Honor for his contribution to the Fashion industry and the promotion of France throughout the world.
