Women's Leather Shirts
The Jitrois women's leather shirt comes in three models, all handcrafted in France: AGATHA, LISE and WANDER.
Ten pieces make up the line, from deep black to celadon, in stretch lambskin leather, stretch plongé lambskin or stretch lamb suede, with made-to-measure available online.
This page presents the three models, their leathers, their colours and the occasions they answer to. It is for those looking for a genuine leather shirt rather than a piece for one season.
The choice matters: between stretch lambskin, plongé lambskin and suede, the material changes the look as much as the use, and the cut decides whether the shirt is worn to the office or in the evening. Chosen well, a handcrafted shirt lasts for years, where a ready-made shirt wears out quickly.
The AGATHA Shirt, a Couture Piece
AGATHA is the house leather shirt, cut close to the body and worked in the leather that made the reputation of the Maison Jitrois.
Its long sleeves, its shirt collar and its exposed front zip draw a precise silhouette without ever constraining movement.
Worn closed, it holds the register of the dressed shirt. Open over a top, it becomes an overshirt and takes the place of the light jacket in mid-season.
It is a piece kept from one season to the next, conceived within the same wardrobe as our leather jackets, trousers and skirts.
LISE, Tailoring Translated into Leather
LISE takes the language of classic tailoring and translates it into stretch plongé lambskin. The silhouette is short and structured, defined at the waist by vertical seams that follow the body before opening across the bust.
Shirt collar, metal buttons, long sleeves: the codes are all there, but the wearing changes everything. In black the line is graphic and deep; in white it lifts a dark outfit.
WANDER, the Patinated Shirt with a Denim Spirit
WANDER borrows its lines from the denim shirt and transforms them through the material. Stretch lambskin leather is double-dyed, then given a patina applied after assembly, following a technique particular to the house known as Hallu.
The colour settles along the seams and the areas of tension, and wearing it continues to make it evolve. Fitted cut, concealed press studs, classic shirt collar: an everyday piece whose surface never stays the same.
Stretch Lambskin, Plongé Lambskin or Stretch Suede
The shirts come in three materials. Stretch lambskin leather catches the light and gives an immediate couture drape.
Stretch plongé lambskin, denser, holds the construction of tailoring. Stretch lamb suede sets a more muted matte finish, with a velvet touch.
In all three, lambskin stays remarkably light and follows the silhouette: the give of the leather allows a fitted line that keeps all its ease day after day.

How to Wear the Women's Leather Shirt
This piece is worn as the strong element of an outfit. Closed and tucked into a leather skirt or leather trousers, it composes a single-tone wardrobe where the material speaks to itself.
Over straight jeans, it breaks the dressed register and sets a relaxed style, freer by day.
Open over one of our fitted tops, it plays the role of an overshirt and structures the silhouette without adding volume.
Dark colours, black or dark green, hold the evening. The white of LISE and the patinated denim of WANDER open the daytime register, while celadon, tobacco and ochre brown set softer outfits. One rule holds: let the leather speak and keep the rest restrained.
Couture Savoir-Faire Handcrafted in France
Jean-Claude Jitrois invented stretch leather in the mid-1990s: a lambskin bonded to a cotton and elastane fibre — 97% cotton, 3% elastane — which stretches and returns to its shape like a knit.
The house has shaped leather as a couture material for more than forty years.
Each shirt passes through the hands of a single atelier, from the cutting to the last finishing stitch. The hides are selected one by one for their fineness, and each piece is conceived to be durable and functional, worn season after season.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a leather shirt worn open called?
It is then an overshirt. Worn open over a top, it plays that intermediate role between the dressed shirt and the light jacket, with a hold few materials match.
Which leather to choose for a women's shirt?
Stretch lambskin leather gives a luminous, couture result. Stretch plongé lambskin, used for LISE, brings the density and the crispness of tailoring. Stretch lamb suede sets a softer matte finish with a velvet touch.
The making is identical in all three: the choice comes down to the look sought and the colour.
Is a stretch leather shirt comfortable?
Yes. The give of stretch lambskin allows a fitted cut that follows the movements of the body, without the stiffness of a conventional leather.
It is this comfort that sets the pieces of the house apart from a ready-made shirt.
Which size to choose for a leather shirt?
Stretch leather adjusts to the body while keeping ease. Choose your usual size for a close line, or one size up for a looser fit.
Can a leather shirt be ordered made-to-measure online?
Yes. Jitrois made-to-measure is available online to adjust the cut, the sleeve length and the size to your silhouette, in the same spirit as an appointment in the boutique.
What is the difference between AGATHA, LISE and WANDER?
AGATHA is the fitted shirt of the house, fastened by an exposed zip and offered in the greatest number of colours.
LISE is shorter and more structured, built like a tailored shirt: it is the classic buttoned shirt of the house, with a shirt collar and metal buttons. WANDER borrows the codes of the denim shirt and stands apart through its Hallu patina, applied after assembly.
How do you care for a stretch leather shirt?
By dry cleaning, entrusted to a leather specialist. Machine washing is to be avoided entirely. Well cared for, a Jitrois shirt keeps its hold and its drape for years.
Which sizes are available for Jitrois leather shirts?
AGATHA runs from 34 to 46, WANDER from 34 to 44 and LISE from 34 to 42. Beyond these sizes, made-to-measure adjusts the cut to your measurements.
Is a leather shirt worn tucked in or out?
Both. AGATHA stops at the hip: it tucks into leather trousers or a leather skirt for a clean line, or is worn out for a freer look. LISE, shorter, is naturally worn out.
Which leather shirt to choose for the office?
LISE, built like a tailored shirt, sits most naturally in a working wardrobe, in black as in white. AGATHA fastened to the collar holds the same register, with the sheen of lambskin in addition. Both suit professional meetings as well as evenings out.
Does stretch leather lose its shape over time?
The lambskin is bonded to a cotton and elastane fibre — 97% cotton, 3% elastane — which lets it stretch and then return to its shape, like a knit. That is what sets stretch leather apart from a conventional leather.
How do you recognise a quality leather?
By the part of the hide that has been used. Jitrois plongé lambskin and stretch leather are worked in the grain, the upper and noblest part of the hide. It is the grain that gives that remarkably soft touch, and it is the grain that gives the piece its life: a grain leather develops a patina instead of wearing out.
Can a leather shirt be ironed?
Yes, on plongé lambskin and stretch leather — not on suede — and on three conditions. A clean iron, set between silk and wool, so at low temperature. Never any steam. And always a damp pressing cloth placed between the iron and the leather. The gesture removes storage creases and restores the leather's original sheen.
