The Story of Jitrois

Jitrois began its journey in the heart of Paris, where Jean Claude Jitrois, a visionary designer with a passion for leather, embarked on a quest to redefine luxury fashion. In the early 1970s, fate intertwined his path with that of Stéphanie de Monaco, leading to the opening of his first boutique in the glamorous city of Nice in 1976.

Fuelled by his artistic vision and inspired by the elegance of Monaco's elite, Jitrois quickly gained recognition for his exquisite leather creations. By the 1980s, the brand had become synonymous with sophistication, dressing iconic figures like Brigitte Bardot and solidifying its status as a favorite among the principality's elite.

However, it was in the 1990s that Jitrois truly revolutionized the fashion industry. With unparalleled craftsmanship and innovation, the house introduced "stretch leather," a groundbreaking technique that defied conventions and elevated leatherwear to new heights of comfort and style. This innovation catapulted Jitrois to iconic status, setting the stage for further experimentation and creativity.

By the turn of the millennium, Jitrois continued to push boundaries, unveiling stretch leather jeans that defied expectations by being machine-washable and ironable. This bold move cemented the brand's reputation as a pioneer in the fusion of luxury and practicality.

Jitrois Today.

New, Subversive, Luxury. In the Age where life has been enhanced through social networks and the AI revolution – Jitrois has adapted and developed. The brand has explored the relationship between the skin, the leather and the digital. In the world of webcams, instant messaging and permanent connectivity the concept of a second skin has been applied to the entire virtual body symbolizing a renewal of interaction.

Jitrois. endeavors to retain its eponymous image of high luxury but merged with subversive youth culture. Today the house creates powerful and confrontational pieces that program a new path for desire, either physical or virtual; but, never conforming to social codes.
